Convertible to polihole beach?
Did it in the Sebring a couple weeks ago. It was difficult but doable. Having been there once we would not do it again with something less than a truck.

Convertible to polihole beach?
Polihale and rental cars:
We have done it in rental cars, but drove very slow, and were extremely careful. Cane haul roads can get some serious ruts in them, and are generally what you see is what you get. Plus, it is a long drive on that cane haul, not to mention just getting to the far west side.
We havent been back out there in several years since we find many other beaches that are much more to our own personal liking, with much easier access.
There was definite info in the UKG about not driving into the sandy area at the end of the cane haul. . One of the times were were out there, and as usual parked on the harder surfaced cane haul road.......another person just kept on going......didnt take long, he was mired up to his hubcaps in sand.
A different time, on the way out to the highway from Polihale, we were taking it slow, since we do respect the car, even tho it was a rental. Some inconsiderate tourist come blasting over the rutted road at about 60 mph.....very high impact on the entire vehicle. Dirt flying, car banging, and just beating the dickens out of that rental.
Also, if you break down, or break something out there, most rental agencies will not be responsible for you. So do check on that. The cost of a tow is rather expensive. Also, check on insurance coverage for driving out there.
You know there are wonderful and beautiful beaches that are much easier to get to: Including, driving the shorter, easier cane haul road to Mahaulepu.( south shore )... since our own island vehicle is very low, so we just drive to CJM stables where the cane haul road is still in fairly good shape. From there we hike the wonderful coastal trail to mahaulepu. Rental cars do use this road a lot.
Your call of course, but lots of beaches await your snorkeling, sunning, and beach combing pleasure.
You have, Larsens, Secret Beach, Hideaways, Ke%26#39;e, Tunnels, Anini,
Lumihai, Poipu, Lawaii, Shipwreck, and many more.
