How much time to allow between flights?

Our flight from Australia lands at 7:45am and we want to fly straight onto the Big Island. How much time do I need to allow between flights? If I booked a flight for approx. 10:45am to the Big Island would this give us enough time to clear customs, collect baggage and check -in?

I wouldn%26#39;t worry.....that should be plenty of time to go through customs, get bags and check-in. It%26#39;s when you only have an hour that you would be cutting really close.

So do you think 2.5 hours between landing and take-off is still ok?

Also is the international and domestic (hawaiian air) terminals together or do we have to catch a shuttle?

yes 2.5 hours is enough time. the international flights arrive in a different terminal than the interisland flights, but it will not take you a large amount of time to travel to the other terminal, and you don%26#39;t need to take a shuttle, it is easy to walk there.
