Leaving tomorrow

Leaving tomorrow to fly out of sfo on Monday and will be there for 8 days. We are staying at the Sheraton which is doing pool remodeling so that is kind of a bummer. However the agent at expedia called the hotel and the manager at the Sheraton said he would give us a guestpass to use at the Westin, so I guess thats ok. It%26#39;s just we are not big ocean swimmers and my daughter was really looking forward to the pool. It%26#39;s ironic because we wanted to stay at the Westin but got such a good deal at the Sheraton we booked there. Now I am concerned about the WEATHER.

If you go to weatherchannel.com it basically looks like it is going to be crappy and dreary and rainy the whole time we are there! It figures. Our last vacation 8 months ago in LA we were almost washed out and could not do any beach avtivities because of torrential rain in southern california. Disneyland was still fun.

OK so my question (s)

When it is rain is it like dreary and cloudy all day or is it sporadic here an there with the sun coming out in small intervals?

Is the water all cloudy and not good for snorkeling if it is rainy?

Also? Would you take a 11 year old to mama%26#39;s fish house? DO they have other things on the menu for people that are not fish fans? I am gathering that they do not and that%26#39;s OK, we will send her to keiki camp that day.

Has anyone sent there kid too keiki camp at the sheraton and what did you think?

Leaving tomorrow

You can get a pinpoint weather forcast by looking at the weather on mauinews.com You will be close to Lahaina and it looks like no rain and a high of 88 degrees, partly cloudy tomorrow and Wednesday. Mostly sunny the rest of the week. You can always find rain if you want though.

Leaving tomorrow

kajmir,

We have ben 4x in Mid Sept to Mid Oct and the weather has been beautiful each time. I know if I look on the satelite weather at our home is shows ';bad'; weather some times but if I look at the ';current'; weather it is always sunny.

Each day we were there is fairly cloudy early morning then it clear up in time to go to the beach and then the trades will pick up and depending on which beach you choose(big beach near Makena does this to us,lol) the blowing sand will send you back to your resort/condo where you clean up and go to Lahaina for dinner/shopping.

Honestly I would be very surprised if the weather was an issue. Enjoy your trip. We leave in 3weeks.

I realeyes I am from Indiana but ben is still spelled been...sorry(lol)

Thank You that does make me feel better.

Appreciate the feedback, sounds like it will be lovely no matter what.

kajmir,

I also found a live webcam for the Sheraton Maui. You can just imagine yourself there right now. hawaiilive.sheraton-hawaii.com

1st of all I hate you for leaving today! Just kidding, listen I stayed @ the Sheraton last time I was there (saw Sean Penn in the parking lot in his Ford Explorer, he waved, it was cool) only 1/2 the pool is being fixed so you are g2g (good to go), besides even though you aren%26#39;t ocean peeps you%26#39;re staying on a great strech of beach there, watch the tiled ramp up to the check in desk, it rained a little %26amp; I wiped out, hurt my ankle %26amp; no one seemed to care expect 10 minutes later a wet floor sign was up (imagine that, could have been b/c I mentioned rather loudly the word ';lawsuit';). PS-AS in life everyday there is a 50% chance of rain %26amp; you%26#39;d be correct!!

Aloha and happy journey. Don%26#39;t forget the trip report.
