How important is it to have res. for these day trips? Is it too late for us too call for the first week in Oct? Is it better to call when you actually get there to check out the weather beforehand? Thank for the advice.
Snorkle day trip reservations
I would wait to you get on the island. There are dozens of trips to chose from. I used the Paragon to Lanai for the day and had a great time. It%26#39;s really more about the boat trip, food and adventure than it is the snorkeling. You can see just as many fish from some of the great beaches on Maui without this trip but the trip itself is great.

I agree with Kayo, wait until you get there. We were caught up in ';pre booking'; to many things. When we got there we realized we just wanted to chill out, do some day trips when WE wanted to do them, not just because we booked them in advance. That being said, there are SOME things you need to prebook (some of the luau%26#39;s, Warren and Annabells, etc).
Take a walk down the Marina in Lahaina one day, pick up the brochures from all the boats and trips. At your leisure decide which one you want to take. Also grab a ';Hawaii Gold'; book from the Airport (their free), they offer many coupons and discounts for these kinds of trips....have fun, and have fun at your own pace!!
Agree and agree. We had no problem booking space on the Tradewinds II through Boss Frog for the following day.

Finleyville,
We go in Mid Sept-Mid Oct and have never had trouble booking once you get there. Ask around and see what other ';specials'; they offer as they sometimes offer additional things at a pretty reasonable price??
