I posted before but didn%26#39;t realize there were separate forums for each island.
We%26#39;ve been to Kauai, Maui and the Big Island. Kids always prefer Maui, although H and I like Kauai -- we honeymooned there and we love the natural beauty and slower pace.
We enjoyed the Maui Westin in earlier days, but it has seemed a bit tired in recent years. Travel agent recommends the Kealani or the Four Seasons or the Grand Wailea. Maybe even the Ritz-Carlton, although it has always seemed isolated to me.
Or there%26#39;s a Hyatt on Kauai. We haven%26#39;t been there since before Iniki. We loved the Westin there, but heard that Marriott took it over and it%26#39;s not the same. Is that true?
One son is in college, the other in high school. Our family time together is dwindling and we will probably go to Europe next summer, so who knows when we%26#39;ll return to Hawaii? We want this to be a special vacation and so we%26#39;re willing to splurge.
