Gasoline price in Maui

Hi everyone,

What is the latest price on gasoline per gallon in Maui?

Is the gas price in Maui area the same or the price varies in the areas in Maui?

Any tips on gas station that has the lowest price will be greatly appreciated. We’ll be staying in the South Maui area.

It%26#39;s about $3.50/gallon. hawaiigasprices.com. I couldn%26#39;t find any reports from Kehei. The reports are mostly from Kahului. Be thankful that the island isn%26#39;t too big.

I think I paid about $3.58/gal for my last tank. I don%26#39;t know what it%26#39;s at today. Gas tends to be a few cents cheaper in Kihei than in Kahului. Whatever you do, don%26#39;t buy gas in Hana! Prices are outrageous at the station there (like, a dollar more?), because it%26#39;s so remote. Start out with a full tank and you%26#39;ll make it back to town just fine.

$3.50 a gallon isn%26#39;t so bad. While our local gas prices have dropped over the past two weeks to around $2.70 a gallon, we were right up there before that. I suppose there%26#39;s something to be said for living in a place where everything is expensive...you get used to it and don%26#39;t end up with quite the same shock value at the prices when you go on vacation. *g*

Living in Hawaii, it%26#39;s interesting to visit other places where costs are low. I%26#39;ll go ';sightseeing'; at Wal-Mart: ';Oh my gosh! A dozen eggs, under a dollar! Bananas! Milk! Cheese! It%26#39;s all so cheap!';. It%26#39;s like reverse sticker shock. And I%26#39;ll look wistfully at the big, fancy houses that cost the same as our tiny condo on Maui.

Kahului and Wailuku (central Maui) are $3.51 today, down a bit from a few weeks ago.

Rivera, glad I%26#39;m not the only one who does that! People in the grocery stores in the mainland must think I%26#39;m some kinda nut getting all excited about how cheap certain things are there.

So it appears that gas prices have not come down in Hawaii as they have in Minnesota. It has dropped a dollar a gallon in the last month and is now $2.16.

They haven%26#39;t dropped that low in NY either. At least not on Long Island.
