My wife and I will be staying in Kapalua very soon. Where are the best places to eat there?
Best places to eat in Kapalua?
I typed out this answer once already, but I don%26#39;t where it went. If they both post--oops! Sorry!
My favorites are the Pineapple Grill and the Plantation House. They both do great breakfast, lunch and dinner, with sweeping views. Literally next door, in Napili, many may mention the Gazebo for breakfast, but the place has become too well-known and the lines are just too long for me. Plus, under new management it is just not quite the same. I think the crowds there now are mostly drown by what it once it was. Instead, now, I opt for the Seahouse. You can sit at a table, look out over the bay and enjoy friendly service and a great breakfast, even have a Bloody Mary with those eggs.
You%26#39;ll also find many great places to eat in nearby Kahana, Honokowai and down in Lahaina. There are so many really good places, from casual to upscale, you%26#39;ll not have any trouble finding something you like.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at the Kapalua Bay Hotel. Very nice hotel. It was a buffet which was very good. Pricey, but probably higher because it was Thanksgiving. It was a beautiful setting and we really enjoyed it.
In addition to kaiwahine%26#39;s always excellent recommendations, you also have Sansei and Vino (both owned by D.K. Kodama). I also go to the Banyon Tree at the Ritz on occasion. It is a bit pricey so I go for lunch, but the food is excellent.
I%26#39;ll second kaiwahine%26#39;s recommendations - the Plantation House was our favorite, with the Pineapple grill a close second. We enjoyed Vino as well but it lacks the sweeping view kaiwahine mentions. Folks on this forum rave about Sansei as well but we opted against it.
We really enjoyed the Plantation House ... make a reservation for the sunset 5:30 and get there early and they will give you a great spot. Also enjoyed Vino quite a bit. Do not go to Reilly%26#39;s if you are looking for a steakhouse, stick with seafood restaurants. Not bad, just didn%26#39;t compare to the great steakhouses of the midwest for the price.
In addition to Plantation House, Sansei and Pineapple Grill already mentioned by others, there are a few others to consider.
I really found new appreciation for Vino%26#39;s (dinner only). They serve Italian tapas. Also, check out Banyan Tree at the Ritz for lunch. They have a nice location and food is very good although hotel-pricey. The Honolua Store has some nice things you can get to go.
Wow, I didn%26#39;t realize I already responded with almost same thing months ago -- need more coffee :).
Call (before you leave)for reservations to The Plantation House, ask for table just before sunset. In 1 word BREATHTAKING.
What is the name of the restaurant that is right above Kapalua Bay Beach? You walk under that little tunnel to get to the beach, but right above that is a restaurant if I am not mistake. Does anyone know it%26#39;s name?
usfbulls - you might be referring to The Bay Club restaurant, which I think closed about a year ago. And unfortunately, the Kapalua Hotel is now permanently closed as well - being razed for timeshares.
