My husband and I are returning to Maui and this time (May, 2007) we are driving the Road to Hana. We would like to stay overnight for only one night. Many of the places that I have found require a minimum of 2 nights. Can anyone let us know of accomodations that are not too terribly budget-breaking and allows a one-night stay? Thank you!!
Inexpensive Overnight Lodging in Hana: Need recommendationsTry Hana Accomodations. We got a rate of $75 for the ';Hideaway'; for one night. Have never stayed there but am looking forward to it. Tom, the man I made reservations with via phone, was extremely friendly and accomodating.
Inexpensive Overnight Lodging in Hana: Need recommendationsWe are going to stay 1 night in a yurt at the spa luana. About $100 a night. Ocean view....small, but its all we need . Also, cool looking outdoor shower:) Spoke with someone there and she assured me the place is very clean and bug free outiside of the occasional wandering gecko!
Be careful about the gecko stipulation. We stayed at a place in hana which mentioned geckos in the reviews, and I thought it would be no big deal. Well, my wife FREAKED OUT. That sentance deserves bigger capital letters than keyboards allow. There wasn%26#39;t just one or two little green geckos outside. There were 10+ of them inside the house.
On topic, there is a place we drove by called Joe%26#39;s Rentals in Hana that was very cheap, listed on TA.com, and didn%26#39;t look too bad from what we saw.
I bet with 10 geckos in the house she didn%26#39;t find any other insects.
I agree that Hana Accommodations would seem to fit your needs. I%26#39;ve stayed there a few times, both in the Studio space and a 3 bedroom house, depending on how many of us were going. It%26#39;s inexpensive, directly across the street from Venus Pool, and Tom is great. It%26#39;s NOT fancy or elegant, but a good place to crash for a night so you don%26#39;t have to drive all the way back in the same day!
Thank everyone for your opinions and recommendations! We%26#39;ll be making reservations very shortly, keeping in mind the insights that you provided.
Again, many thanks! You are all very helpful!
