help - choosing one of the following hotels for trip Oct:According to AAA, the only hotel on your list that%26#39;s currently rated five stars (diamonds) is the Kahala Resort and Spa (when it was the Kahala Mandarin Oriental). However, there are several hotel rating guides (AAA is one of the most recognized and what we follow). We recommend the HHV Ali%26#39;i Tower. The J.W. Marriott and Kahala Resort are not in Waikiki. If you don%26#39;t mind staying outside of Waikiki, we recommend the J.W. Marriott. We%26#39;ve always been pampered at the HHV Ali%26#39;i Tower. It%26#39;s private and there%26#39;s a nice pool, continental breakfast, evening reception and housekeeping three times daily, etc. All of the hotels on your list are nice and above average. However, none of them can match the service of a Four Seasons. Unfortunately, there%26#39;s not a Four Seasons on Oahu. Enjoy!
help - choosing one of the following hotels for trip Oct:Sheraton Moana Surfrider does not have any grounds. But it is nice %26amp; located in central Waikiki. It does have a nice pool.
HHV is nice %26amp; has nice pools. Has large nice grounds. Located in Waikiki, but in an area not so crowded. Also located close to Ala Moana Beach Park %26amp; Magic Island.
Kahala Resort is nice. It is only about 3 miles on the opposite side of Diamond Head from Waikiki. So it is close to Honolulu/Waikiki without bing in the area.
JW Marriott is really nice, but is a long way from most Oahu attractions (an hour away from Honolulu/Waikiki). If you plan to spend lots of time at the resort, this may be the one for you. But, traffic to %26amp; from Honolulu can really be terrible. If you plan to spend a lot of time touring %26amp; going to many attractions, this is not the place for you.
Turtle Bay Resort is also really nice. Located on the North Shore. Also almost an hour away from Honolulu/Waikiki.
Halekulani is the best hotel in Waikiki. Not much for grounds though.
If shopping, dining %26amp; being close to attractions is important to you, then the Waikiki hotels or Kahala Hotel %26amp; Resort would be better. If you want a more peaceful resort, then Turtle Bay or JW Marriott would be best.

If you plan on spending a good chunk of time on the grounds, I%26#39;d go with the previous poster and say the Ihilani is the best. It has nice snorkling, swimming inside or outside the three tasteful man made (I gotta believe?) little bays as well as nice pool, great spa, excellent dining at the hotel or Roys on the grounds, some cool manta rays and sharks in an outdoor tank and plenty of lush romantic areas to roam around in. The valet parking or self parking is also very convienient. It%26#39;s not too much further to the North Shore than Waikiki, and much closer to the beautiful Makaha Beach and Ka%26#39;ena Point. the H1 traffic can be a bear but being on vacation you can avoid rush hours :)
But I%26#39;ve never hung out at the Kalaha Resort (do you mean the Mandarin?) and I can%26#39;t really deal with the HHV thing unless maybe you have kids (but that%26#39;s just me).
The Sheraton Moana Surfrider (right on Waikiki) I wouldn%26#39;t really put if the same league as the Ihilani or a cottage at Turtle Bay depending on the season.
