Just for grins, I priced airfare for next February and got a rate of 645.30 PP from Austin, TX
However I looked at VRBo and it seems there are NO condos available anytime in February.
Any suggestions? Thinking of 10 day trip, 8 nights at condo, 2 in Hana. That being said, should we do Hana the 1st part or the last part of the trip?? (I%26#39;m thinking last, 2 days of utter relaxation along with hiking etc..)
How far in advance to book a condo
Hi Mauikitty,
Try ppbo.com or rentalo.com, they may have some available....
what about a package? I looked on travelocity.com and found one for 1300.00 flight and accomodation, from Austin, TX
What if you went through chasinrainbows or something like that?
Just some ideas........

How far in advance to book a condo
MauiKitty- Not sure where you want to stay, but look at unit 5649 on vrbo. This is where we will stay in April. I was way ahead of the game and booked way back in March! This is a 2BR, but is was such a good price and the owner is so nice, so we booked it. Another TA member has stayed here also. We chose N. Kihei, but we will not be in the condo except mostly to sleep. We will be on the go!
I think if I were going to stay in Hana 2 nights, I would do it at the end. I would do everything else I wanted to do first and then save some of the best for last.
Have you travelled the West side? I know you have been before, however next April will be our first trip.
Yep, the problem is that anybody who is still largely unbooked for peak season right now is most probably overpriced. By largely unbooked, I mean more then about 1/3 vacant. The smart money books peak season 9+ months in advance. This means that the smart money is booking late spring and summer %26#39;07 right NOW. There is one possible exception ... somebody with a new vacation listing. Best be careful though, some of the overpriced folks will try to make themselves look like they are new. Much as they will advertise dates about to go off unbooked as ';Last Minute Cancellations'; ;) Be careful out there.
You could give chasenrainbows.com a try. They still have some availability for Feb. Prices are pretty good.
There is also Prestige Rentals, Bello Realty, and mauiownercondos.com. I try to book our condo as soon as I know our dates because the good ones fill up fast!
oh, one more..Allii Rentals in South Maui.
Based on reviews here on tripadvisor, We will be staying at the Maui%26#39;s Noelani Condominium Resort in Lahina.
We just booked the condo last week for Feb 3rd - 9th. At the time we were told there was 4 condos left. We decided on the 3 room condo sinse were traveling with another couple. I believe the other 3 are one bedroom.
Anyway, check them out. Lots of good reviews and great local. Let me know if you do and maybe we%26#39;ll see you there!!!!! Cant wait!!!
greatrentals.com
If you can%26#39;t find anything direct from an owner via vrbo.com or similar, I know there are three agencies that rep S. Maui condos:
Condominium Rentals Hawaii, Maui Condo %26amp; Home, Ali%26#39;i. Hotels may have availability, too.
Thanks for all the tips- I%26#39;ve printed this out.
I think we%26#39;ll wait til next October and go again for our anniversary. Next Feb sounded just TOO soon. (HUH???-Did I just say that?)
I don%26#39;t even see anything that far out though......
