Which island would be the best to visit for 2 parents, 2 18 year olds that like surfing, shopping, beaches, lite adventures, fishing, atv rides, etc.?
What time of the year is of season? Where to stay that is not to over priced but nice and decent?
thinking about travleing next year in summer or end of summer in sept. Also when or how far in advance should you book your hotel if you travel in off season?

Sounds like Oahu would be best suited for your family. Oahu has the best shopping, the best beaches, the best surfing, and the most activities.
The end of summer is the perfect time to come to Hawaii. The weather is dry and sunny, and since it is the off-season there are less crowds and better bargains. Anytime Aug-Oct is ideal.
