I am picking my flight to Kahului in March 2007. One of my choice is Denver to Honolulu then on to Kahului. I arrive at Honolulu airport at 4:30 pm. My flight to Kahului is at 6:00 pm.
Do I have to change to another terminal or another airport?
Will I have enough time to get my bag and caught the next flight?
Interisland Flight connections
Assuming you are taking Hawaiian or Aloha to Kahului, you do have to change terminals, from the ';overseas'; to ';interisland'; facility. Depending upon where your arrival gate is, it can take 10 to 20+ minutes to walk, or you can catch a ';wiki-wiki'; bus which connects the two.
You should be able to check your bags all the way through to your final destination from wherever you start your trip. Just make sure to get a paper ticket or print out your itenerary, boarding pass or confirmation from Hawaiian/Aloha showing your confirmed status and you should have no problems whatsoever.
If you check everything straight through, you can make a connection from the mainland to interisland flights in 30 to 45 minutes with no problems. If you have to claim your bags from the mainland flight and then go check them in at an interisland flight, it will take about 1:15 and up depending upon lines.
