Molokai is wonderful for children!

We recently returned from 5 days on Molokai and I felt I must post so that other families with small children will consider this wonderful island to visit when in Hawaii (there isn%26#39;t much info on taking children to the island)! I had travelled to the island as a child myself and could not wait to take my 10 yr old son. We stayed at the Aloha Beach house which was absolutely perfect for a family - the house was ideal for day trips and beaches. The island is so easy to navigate and there are beaches around every bend to explore. We found the people to be living their lives as they shoud be - not going out of their way to accommodate tourists, but you learn to just melt into their culture and do so respectfully. All the posts about the %26#39;stink eye%26#39; could be in any country, anywhere in the world. You need to go with the correct assumptions and expectations which is exactly what we did. The island is beautiful from the lush side to the desert side - and we could have stayed longer. It was an educational trip to Hawaii and we are already planning to go back. Molokai is the true Hawaii and a great experience - with beaches practically all to yourself! As I sit back at my desk in Canada when the snow falls and dips to -30C I will be dreaming of the beachhouse!

I%26#39;m glad that you liked Molokai so well for your family. I would love to hear more. We went to Lana%26#39;i a few weeks back and did not want to leave! We appreciate the more laid back Hawaii. Molokai is high on our list of next stops. The Aloha Beach House looks adorable online. If you have any more highlights to share about your trip, I would love to hear...
