We will be staying in waikiki 29 Jan - 3 Feb next year. Just wondering what the weather will be like, ie, is it good for swimming and sunbaking??
Also any events on during this time of year?
January/February
That%26#39;s typically the time I go to Hawaii, it is not too hot for sunbathing (highs in mid 20%26#39;s C) and the water is fine for swimming (about 25 C). It could get a little chilly at night (lows in high teens).
There are usually lots of regularly scheduled events. Maybe try a websearch for Hawaii or Oahu events.
January/February
Forgotten to mention that ';winter'; is rainy season in Hawaii. But typically it does not last long, and you have very good chance to see rainbows.
I was in waikiki for the month of january and the weather was fantasic,But it was very windy at night, not cold tho! We were on the beach every day and it rained once, but that lasted a couple of hours...At night as we were going out we could not belive how windy it was,So dont take a hairdryer the local weather will dry your hair for you!!!!!!!
We will be coming from a trip to London and New York so the warm weather will be a welcome change!
I am so glad i will be able to soak up the rays thanks :) Least i suppose if it does get cold at night we will have plenty of winter clothes to throw on!!
hi there another person from sydney. we too will be in oahu for end of january begining of feb. glad to hear weather is still ok.
i have been once before hubby never. i was there in mid june on way over to canada and late july; on way back.
where are you thinking of staying. i get funny about so many reviews that talk of stinky hotels and smoking rooms only thing on offer. but i cant afford expensive room. think budget rooms are expensive enough, with dollar US vs AUS especially.
i stayed at waikiki circle aston , right on the beach last time, and it was great for the price if a little small. and no pool, but who needs pool with beach across road, and on way back paid heaps and got oceanfront.
this time am thinking of saving more money, and staying at either waikiki prince or sand villa, what about you?
Hi springqueen! We are staying at the waikiki circle so i am glad you liked it :) Its $1100 aussie for 5 nights which considering it is a ocean front room i didn%26#39;t think was too bad.
Might see you over there!!
I have stayed at the waikiki circle 5 times now and would highly recommend the oceanfront rooms here.I have a indepth review on the hotels tripadvisor. I have also stayed at the waikiki sand villa and also a fab hotel, especially the kitchenette rooms and it has a great pool, something that the circle has not... given the choice the circle wins hands down, and belive me if you choose the circle i think you would agree with me.
hi there thanks for the advice re sand villa and also the circle. $1100 for five nights does seem reasonable. i think the prices i have got are around that for the other hotels. hmm.
i want to stay 5- 7 nights then go over to the Big Island and stay there three nights. havent finished deciding yet. will have to get move on to secure good airfares.
Teeka09, did you book the hotel online or through an agent. on my way through to Canada June visit, i booked through an agent. but for our stay on the way back, we booked directly with the hotel.
our plan is to be in Oahu during the same days as you. i want to arrive on 25th Jan and leave for the Big Island on 01/02. funny if we do all end up in the same hotel.
i meant we had already decided on those dates, not that i was changing plans to coincide with your dates. lol.
we need to be back to babysit our grandson so his mum can go away for a holiday, before university begins.
Springqueen we booked our accomodation through flightcentre as when i looked at doing it ourselves i couldn%26#39;t get it that cheap.
Yay, i am glad i have picked this hotel, very excited!!
