My understanding is to forget about snorkeling here in Feb, but a whale watching boat trip is well-worth it. If so, any suggestions on tour operators? Thanks in advance.
NaPali Coast in Feb
kauaidreaming,
In Feb. you probably will be going out of Port Allen, or Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor on the west side.
Larger Cats ( with Masts ) out of Port Allen:
Capt. Andy....Blue Dolphin....and Holoholo Charters.
Smaller vessels out of Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor:
Napali Explorer......and Liko Cruises.
Kind of depends on what you personally want to be aboard.
Say hello to the whales.
Most of the North Shore operators are shut down for the winter, due to the northerly swells, and seas.

NaPali Coast in Feb
I%26#39;ll be there in Feb also. Last time I was there a couple Febs ago we used a Captain Andy Catamaran and it worked out fine. Saw lots of whales and spinner dolphins. They stopped for a bit and let everyone (that wanted to) jump off and swim in the deep ocean too. I can%26#39;t remember but I think we were supposed to snorkel somewhere too but it was rough so we didn%26#39;t get to.
Just came back from a NaPali tour and were told there are up to 20ft. waves during the winter so the boats don%26#39;t even try. They go south instead for whale watching.

We went in March a couple years ago with Holo Holo and the boats will go if they can. Our tour was diverted to the west shore the day we went. We still saw plenty of whales and dolphins, but not the Na Pali. I%26#39;d recommend booking one early on in your stay in case it gets cancelled and you need to reschedule it.
