At the end of December/beginning of January we%26#39;ve rented a house very near Anini Beach. After booking the reservation I%26#39;ve noticed that on average the North Shore gets tons of rain. Was it a mistake to decide to stay up there? Constant rain? I know that the weather always varies, but what is it typically like? At least Kauai isn%26#39;t too big, so we can go to the south if needed.

cross your fingers. last year was dry until about Feb 1. the year before, jan 1 was a biblical flood all over the island.

Maybe stay south?
We have stayed at Anini at least half a dozen times in January and had no serious rain issues. But who knows, maybe we were lucky. I like the place so much, I guess I wouldn%26#39;t let the possibility of rain influence me that much.
Good Luck!
I guess we%26#39;ll just have to hope for dry weather then! I%26#39;d really like to stay on the North Shore, just because I%26#39;ve heard of its beauty. Even if it rains, it won%26#39;t completely ruin plans. We can always try going to the south for a day or so. We%26#39;ve rented a really beautiful place near Anini Beach, so I think even if it rains it%26#39;ll still be fun.
