Budget Travel in March/April

Hi,

I%26#39;m from Australia and my boyfriend and I are flying into Honolulu next March for a week. Our budget%26#39;s pretty tight - if possible I%26#39;d like to find accommodation for under US$500...for the week. I%26#39;m not sure that Hawaii%26#39;s got much to choose from in this price range, but any hints would be great.

We%26#39;re not too fussy...I%26#39;m happy enough with basic accommodation so long as it%26#39;s clean. But we would like to be near Waikiki.

I know it%26#39;s still 6 months away, but I like to be organised. Alternatively, would I be better waiting until closer to the date to get better deals?

Thanks

georgiegirloz,

I usually stay at the Queen Kapiolani. It%26#39;s on the edge of Waikiki, 2 blocks from the beach and across the street from the zoo and Kapiolani Park. Their basic room is 79.00 per night.

Another place that has been recommended (and I have it from HulaJake%26#39;s authority) is the Royal Grove. It%26#39;s a bit funky, but many enjoy it and the local feel. I%26#39;ve been thinking of staying there on my next %26#39;budget%26#39; trip. They have rooms that start at 64.00 per night, or 400.00 per week.

I hope this gets you started okay!

We stay at the Pacific Beach each time, which will be out of your price range however located next door is the ResortQuest Waikiki Circle. Our friends stayed here last year as they were on a tighter budget to us and loved it.

A standard cityview room is about $70AUD twin share per person. It is a bit bit above what you want to pay, but for the fantastic location damn good.

The hotel is right in the heart of Waikik opposite the beach. The rooms are small, but they are very clean and comfy and very easy walking distance to shops and restaurants plus you are right across the street from the beach !!!

Have a great trip :-)
