We will be flying to Hilo from Honolulu on 10-05-2006 on business and need a room in Hilo for one night. Hotels that are available have gotten terrible reviews. B%26amp;B%26#39;s that I have emailed have all returned with none available. Any suggestions on near by places to stay. I will have a rental car.

Look at it this way, your getting paid to go there, that will help. Getting drunk might too.........Just be glad its for one night......It is an option I once had and it was not fun......... I am sorry there is not any real choice. Good luck

the problem is it%26#39;s not worth it for small places to do a one night stay and clean it, plus it ruins the booking schedule. Hotels have the staff for the cleaning and the large # of rooms. The Hilo Hawaiian is supposed to be the best of what%26#39;s there. Get the best room you can, pay for the oceanfront, is what I%26#39;d suggest.
Have you tried the B%26amp;B%26#39;s recommended on TripAdvisor? I know one of the top-ranked Hilo ones has rooms available that night, free wireless and a business rate. There are some very nice places to stay over here...Take a look at the guest reviews on TripAdvisor.
Keep trying, and be sure to ask for a business rate. One night stays are not a hardship.
Bgmccord,
Hilo Hawaiian is your best bet. Book an ocean front and get as high as possible.
Good luck and happy travels!
Have you tried TripAdvisor%26#39;s top 4 ranked B%26amp;Bs for Hilo? I called all 4, and the two that answered, Shipman House and Waterfalls Inn, both have rooms available that night, and both accept single night stays. I left messages at Emerald View and Bay House, too.
Start calling.
Emerald View called back--no rooms.
Bay House has rooms.
Waterfalls Inn has rooms.
Shipman House has rooms.
So, 3 out of TA%26#39;s 4 top-ranked B%26amp;Bs in Hilo have rooms available on October 5th.
