slowing down

while on island take your time and enjoy life. does anybody remember a sign that was just before the lookout in princeville heading towards hanalei that read '; if you go fast you ain%26#39;t got class';?

slowing down

Like we say, slow down -- this ain%26#39;t the mainland.

slowing down

it%26#39;s definitely a slow day in Princevile this morning (Raining as I type), but it looks like it%26#39;s gonna lift soon (maybe not?). I came yesterday afternoon from Oahu (love those new $29 flights) for an old friend%26#39;s 75th birthday party. About 400 people, they had rented out the whole Haena YMCA camp and plenty grinds under those big ';local kine'; tents and local bands on a makeshift stage.

Definitely drive cautious from Princeville to the end of the road (Ke%26#39;e).

Especially with the narrow road and one lane bridges.

I kinda wish I could speed through Kapaa some tine but the traffic through town (especailly eastbound) is as bad as Oahu. And it looks like they are building some more big condo complexes which certainly won%26#39;t help the problem.

looks like it now stopped raining as I was finishing typing! That%26#39;s the really neat thing about any of the islands.

Gotta run...oops I mean walk. Still don%26#39;t have the day planned out but it%26#39;s gonna be slow and easy whatever comes my way.

You can get through Kapa%26#39;a pretty quickly if you take the bypass.

not to make a stink, but getting through kapaa quickly wasn%26#39;t the point

and isn%26#39;t that the point of a tropical vacation?? At least in my book . . .the taking the time to watch the sunrises/sunsets . . . the driving slowly over the one lane bridges, giving other people a turn, wind in your hair, island music playing . . . .taking in the scents and the views ..... I know I never want to hurry anywhere. I love the pace there . . . wish I were heading to Hanalei right now. Thanks for the nice reminder Mike - aloha! :)

The bypass can be just as slow, but agreed this isn%26#39;t the point of the thread. Sorry, Mike for getting off topic. I just thought it was interesting that you have to slow down through Kapaa whether you have class or not. The traffic issue through this great town needs to be addressed some time at a higher level than this forum.

Back on topic, the North Shore of Kauai is the greatest place in the world to slow down (literally and figuratively!) And if you%26#39;re one of those unfortunates that haven%26#39;t had the opportunity to ';Slow Down'; in your life, North Shore Kauai is also the ultimate place to learn.

i was just hoping that some other posters might read this and catch on. i know for a fact that visiting kauai has taught me alot. i am very thankful to have gotten to know what the spirit of aloha really means and i try to bring it back to the mainland and extend it to others here. vacation does not mean turn other peoples lives upside down in order for you to be able to have an enjoyable time. i%26#39;ll be on island starting on the 23rd for 18 days and hoping to learn even more. and mahalo to you all for your support.

be safe and always play fair.

Hoa malie, mike. Topics meander all the time. No need to freak. Getting through Kapa%26#39;a WAS a point raised, although not by you. Relax.
