I have researched and researched on this, and have been able to find NO reviews except one guy who said the food was excellent. I made my reservations for it yesterday, so we shall see!

Assuming it hasn%26#39;t really changed since it was taken over by Tihati, the food is decent, drinks are weak, show is rather touristy.

pzp, I went back and found your reply when I asked about this luau... I think your comment on ';professionally polished'; may be part of what drove me to try it. I saw a hula dancer for the first time at a hotel on Maui... I%26#39;m not sure if that%26#39;s what%26#39;s considered ';authentic';, but it was REALLY boring. I could barely wait for my friend to finish her drink so we could leave. Maybe touristy is what I need!

Sasha, was the dancer you saw dancing to tuneful island music or to a chant? The former would probably be hula auana (modern), the latter would probably hula kahiko (ancient.) I find kahino endlessly fascinating, and most auana pretty boring.

Sounds like I would like the hula kahiko better myself...

Sashasmommy - when are you going? I%26#39;d like to hopefully hear how your experience is before we go. We will arrive on May 11th. Do you know if their drinks are all included in the price or are they extra?
