Wow. What a downpour. Nobody on the beach and two people with umbrellas waving at the cam. Looks like a flood. 2:40 PT, 12:40 Hawaii I believe.
It would be nice to post an image here once in a while after a certain requirement was met in contributing.

Duke cam a little wet
i hear ya, BoeingDad. I keep checking, sometimes several times a day, hoping for the best. We are headed there April 12th, and so far we%26#39;ve got three strikes against us-- the rain, the sewage, and OH YEAH we%26#39;re flying Delta so who knows if we%26#39;ll even get there.
it%26#39;s hard to stay positive, but I%26#39;m trying... :/
Duke cam a little wet
It%26#39;s HAWAII. Get away from being locked into one area and travel to the other side of the island. It seems to rain more on some parts than others. It would rain on the east side and be bright and sunny on the other. We would go through a tunnel to get over there - leaving pounding rain with dark clouds and go immediately into hot glaring sun and nice skies.
Ironically, I want to go to Washington DC this year too.

we%26#39;ll have a rental car for 3 full days of our week, so we plan on visiting the north shore for sure one day, and the other two cruising around finding some quiet spots.
have you ever ';waded'; out to goat island?? that seems like a good time, and i%26#39;ve done something similar while in costa rica. my girlfriend is a little wary though.
anyway, if you have any questions about DC, i%26#39;m the one to ask. ;)
The rain is pau and it%26#39;s blue skies and sunshine right now. I don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s going to last, but most likely this weather pattern will be over soon!
Lots of flooding all over Oahu today. But it appears to be over. The sun is shining over most of the island now.
Even in Mililani the sun is out. I almost forgot what it looked like.
Today marked 40 straight days of rain on Oahu.
Fort Shafter Flats
had to be evacuated this afternoon @ about 2Pm
This Army facility deal mostly with Reservists. So Flooding STILL IS an issue.

Goat island - I heard that the beach where you start there was closed. I%26#39;ve been there, it%26#39;s not a big deal. I would go to Kailua in the early morning and rent a kayak for two and paddle out to those small islands. Only one is legal to explore, but it is pretty big and private.
DC is excellent. I%26#39;ll give you a shout in the DC forum when I%26#39;m ready to go.

I%26#39;ve been hearing a lot about this Duke Cam. Exactly what is it?
It%26#39;s a real time webcam in front of the Duke Kahanamoku Statue on Waikiki Beach - here%26#39;s the link to it:
