Okay,
I normally tend to pack a lot but not for this trip! Shorts/casual skirts/bathing suit for the day and for the night...??? Does it cool down a lot at night or stay hot and humid? I am going at the beginning of June. Would jeans be needed? I just heard on the radio that it rained (somewhere on the islands) for 42 days straight. Even if it is raining does it stay pretty warm?
Thanks

June should be pretty warm. If the trades are blowing it shouldn%26#39;t be humid. If by some chance it gets cool you can always buy a pareo to use as a wrap. You can travel in jeans so you have them, but unless you%26#39;re going riding you probably won%26#39;t need them.

We certainly didn%26#39;t need them last November. I traveled in a pair of chinos and my wife in capris. We never wore them again after we got to our condo. We saw (light) rain on two days. One day at D.T. Flemming Beach, we just moved under some trees till the shower past.

June is a great time to go! Even if it rains it usually stays warm. I was just there in March with the rain and I still wore shorts every evening.
What%26#39;s the temperature like on top of Haleakala during the day? I know it%26#39;s cool (cold!) for sunrise, but if we go later, do we still need jeans, or does it warm up?
From Glenn%26#39;s weather page, it%26#39;s probobly in the lo 50%26#39;s for the Hi temp during the day but other factors are involved like wind speed, humidity and or if you are inside a cloud. I%26#39;m guessing it will feel pretty chilly if ther%26#39;s wind.

Come to think of it, you might actually want your jeans for the top of Haleakala, especially early morning or late evening.
We drove up to Haleakala in the afternoon a couple of weeks ago and the temperature changed from 82 degrees in Wailea to 50 degrees at the summit in the 2 hours it took us to drive there. It was windy too, so we were glad to be in jeans with light jackets. That was the only time during our whole trip that we needed either long pants or jackets and I imagine it would be warmer in June.
Even in June you%26#39;re at 10,000%26#39; with wind; it%26#39;s liable to be too chilly for shorts.
