Hi. Been developing a plan myself so I can share some thoughts I have had so far with you, and I change my mind and thus my plan almost every day that I read someone%26#39;s trip report!
Day 1 in Oahu- arrive from Maui at 10AM, check-in, then take off in rental and do North Shore Drive. This ';tour'; takes 3.5 hours and is decribed here in case you are interested: www.alternative-hawaii.com/drives/oahu/ns.htm
We plan on doing lunch and sunset and cocktails and dinner on the road. Return to Waikiki and ';crash'; at Royal Hawaiian. Maybe 1 little stroll on the beach before bedtime!
Day 2- Hike Diamond Head Trail early then drive to Koko Head for hike after lunch at a roadside truck. Dinner plans undecided so far but probably see how we feel after the Koko hike! Got info about this and other hikes here: portaloha.com/SecretsOfHawaii/RoundTop.htm
Day 3- Oahu triple play day- bike, hike, and sail/snorkel for me while wife stays at resort and does girl tourist stuff. Info on my activity is at www.hawaiiactive.com/adventures. Price is $144.00 pp (ouch!). Price includes lunch and transportation. I should return by 6PM. Dinner in town, so far undecided.
Day 4- Kualoa Ranch ATV Ride and Kayak Combo, 9 hours, $139.00 pp (double ouch!). Info on this is also at hawaiiactive. I am not a shareholder! LOL! Return at 4:30PM and do dinner late after cocktails at undecided bar for sunset.
Day 5,6,7- Ali Kai Dinner Cruise and Stars and Stripes Tour and Magic of Polynesia Cocktail Show and something else offered as Combo Package for $186.46 pp (yipes!) The catch for this activity is that you gotta do the activities over a 3 day period or you waste your money. So we will schedule appropriately to fit it all in.
Departure Flight leaves at 5:35 PM on Day 7. As mentioned, I change my mind on this plan every time someone else posts about what a great meal they had or hike or bike or some other great activity that they enjoyed while vacationing in Oahu.
It%26#39;s my 1st trip, can U tell! LOL!

That%26#39;s not very nice or helpful, do you think?
sounds like too much driving, I would swing around to the north shore after the kayaking instead of a separate trip, if you are staying at the royal hawaiian might consider the monday night luau - I would do that over you dinner cruise choice, I would be sure to get dinner reservations before you arrival, dukes, hula grill, orchids are good places that take reservations. The best thing about the royal hawaiian is that you get the pink umbrellas on the beach, you need to reserve them the afternoon before at the pool stand. The mai tai bar at the royal is an excellent place for cocktails and late night music. The halekulani is also a good place for sunset cocktails and music.
Hey, longboard, thanks for those tips. I%26#39;ll be posting the entire version 1 for criticism and comment soon, so please look for it and jump all over it with more ideas!
BTW, U think that this wgtatravel person is for real? He/she has posted the exact same question on every one of the Hawaiian island boards!
He/she is either planning 1 hell of a vacation or is trolling for names of places as some sort of marketing thingy for TripAdvisor, IMHO!
We got a copy of 101 things to do in Hawaii then along with our friends and family plus what we found on internet we couldn%26#39;t sleep. There%26#39;s too much to do in such a short time so we decided to pick what we really wanted to see and do. If you have kids with you I think that would change things some but not totally.
Sorry I almost forgot May 1 is Lei Day and depending when you get in what events you maybe able to catch. We arrive April 29 and leave May 4.
