Scenic Drive with photo ops?

Hey everyone! What is your recomendation for a great scenic drive not too far from where we are staying (Kailua) to get some great pictures? Thanks!

Scenic Drive with photo ops?

Pali Highway and Lookout depending on the time of day. Also the stretch of Kamehameha Highway from Kailua to Turtle Bay once again time of day and the weather.

Thanks Hulajake! What time of day do you recommend taking these drives?

Early morning before the clouds build around the mtns. Although on Palis Lookout the clouds may give you an awesome photo. Also liked the lighting later in the afternoon on the crivices in the mtns. I do however have one photo that sits on the desk of Kaena Point taken from Haleiwa Beach Park it was a late afternoon shot as well.

Thank you so much!

You can also head ten minutes the other way, eastward, to Makapuu and get gorgeous shots of Rabbit Island, Kailua and Kaneohe. I%26#39;m not sure if they%26#39;re still working on the parking area for that lookout though, it was closed off when I drove through there the other week. I did see lots and lots of cars parked on the side of the road because people like to hike up to the lighthouse too. Beware though because I did see tow trucks and police giving tickets. However, if you continue driving for three more minutes you%26#39;ll see Sandy Beach, the Blowhole, and the lookout where you can see Maui, Molokai and Lanai, if it%26#39;s a nice clear day. And just less than a mile further you can go to the upper parking area of Hanauma Bay and look down and get a shot of the bay. Just past Hanauma Bay there%26#39;s a lookout over the Hawaii Kai marina which is really nice.

Thanks, Cynde, that%26#39;s a great idea!
