My fiance and I are getting married in mid-September and want to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon. The travel agent told us: Good news--low rates/Bad news--rainy season. We%26#39;re trying to decide if we should go anyway, or postpone the trip till spring.
How rainy is the rainy season? Is it constant, or more along the lines of a shower every day, along with clear weather?
What should we do? Thanks for the advice!
Travel in September?Acutally, they just had their rainy season and it was VERY rainy. We went In Sept. and had a great time and it did not rain.
I also recall rading that May and Sept. are their best months as far as weather.
Maybe someone who lives in Hawaii can answer this better than I can.
Travel in September?Like I%26#39;ve said many times - get a new travel agent! These people seem to revel in misinformation. Save some money and book the trip yourself.
September and October are beautiful months in the islands. Not too hot, not too cool. Actually, September can still be pretty hot and humid, but it also depends on the island you stay on.
Hawaii is in the northern hemisphere and the winter months are the same as for you in Vermont - just tempered a bit by it%26#39;s proximity to the equator. Course, there%26#39;s no snow either, except way up high on the Big Island! The most rain is usually in December through February although March can be pretty wet as well. This past March proved that!
In mid-September I would expect the usual passing showers, which actually help cool you off and don%26#39;t hinder your activities at all. Even better news is that you%26#39;ll be coming after Labor Day. The kiddies will be back in school, and you%26#39;ll get lower airfare and accomodation prices.
Congratulations and enjoy !!
Thanks! I had been reading up on Hawaii in various places and hadn%26#39;t seen anything about September being a bad month to travel, but after the travel agent told us about the rainy season, I started to have doubts. I love tripadvisor! Thanks so much to both of you.

Thanks for that info.
I was getting a bit concerned with our Sept/October vacation, after all the rain there has already been!
my husband and I got married last oct in hawaii, the weather was fantastic, and the place and people the nicest i have ever encountered,am planning to back again soon and will definitly go back sept/oct
September is beautiful in Hawaii! Where in the islands do you want to visit? How much time will you have? Do you like nightlife or hiking or what?
Hi There, my fiance and I are also looking into going to Hawaii for our honeymoon in Mid September. We%26#39;re planning on staying in Oahu for 3 days and then going over to Maui for 4 days. Oahu will be all about doing the touristy things. Our goal in Maui is to stay at a more secluded type of facility where we would have beach access and the ability to do several water sport activities. Price is not a huge concern since it is our honeymoon.. Any suggestions? Thanks for the input!
We%26#39;re not real city people, though we might want to spend a couple of nights checking out nightlife. Some of the things we absolutely must do: snorkeling, hiking (Kauai sounds amazing for this), relaxing on the beach, and of course we have to see some volcano action!
I had thought the Big Island and Kauai might be a nice trip, but I%26#39;d welcome any recommendations. TIA!
By all means go,agree with earlier post, get a new agent or plan it your self.
