Renting or purchasing boogie boards

We will be staying at the Mauna Kea this June and were wondering if there is anywhere to rent or purchase boogie boards for the week. We usually rent at the resort and this adds up fast! We found a place on Kauai where we can rent boards for the week and find it much more affordable than renting by the day or hour. Thanks.

I%26#39;m curious about this, too. We%26#39;ll be at the Mauna Kea, and we were planning to rent boogie boards at a stand I read about on Hapuna Beach. Is this not cost-effective?

We rented snorkel equip. and boards from Snorkel Bob%26#39;s next to Huggo%26#39;s Restaurant in Kona. Rented for the week don%26#39;t remember how much exactly but for 2 adults and 1 child it was under $200 altogether and that was with the more expensive snorkel gear.

We were planning on buying one when we got there too. Snorkel bob%26#39;s is $26 dollars to rent....we just don%26#39;t know what we%26#39;re going to do with it when we leave.

I should start a resale shop for all the stuff tourists buy and don%26#39;t want to take home! I%26#39;d make a killing!

Anyone know how much boogie boards cost? Which stores carry them? I think we may not rent them after all.

I don%26#39;t know how much a boogie board costs, but assuming you can get a relatively inexpensive one, here is an idea. We have bought floats, noodles, balls and other beach/pool toys in the Caribbean. When we are ready to leave, we find a family who is just arriving and give our stuff to them. They are always so appreciative and it feels better than just leaving it or throwing it away. If everyone did something like this, imagine how cool that would be!

We leave tomorrow and I was thinking of doing this with boogie boards (we own our own snorkeling equipment - and I am not sure that would be so good to ';share'; - Gross!)

We brought our own snorkel gear from costco before we left for our trip. We also brought one boogie board.

There is a walmart and a costco on the big island. You can easily pick up boogie boards at the walmart. I would stop there after the airport and pick up some soda, snacks, boogie boards, etc... It is really easy to get to. It was on Henry street just a few lights south of the airport.

have fun!

The smallest boards at WalMart/Longs/ABC stores runs about $15.00. The bigger ones a little more (maybe 25-30). Real boards are a cost a lot more but you don%26#39;t need that for a vacation.
