Anyone knows a grat beach for kids ages 4 and 7 years old. We are staying at Kanaloa Villas at Kona next month for 8 nights. Would to take the kids snorkling and hang around the beach. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks

Kahalulu bay 1 mile north... its a beach park
4 is pretty young in my book to snorkel... teach the kids in the pool at the condo or at home and let them practice... when in the ocean it can be scary when things start moving. both kids should wear flotation jackets even if they can swim as they can at that age run out if steam

I highly recommend a trip to Hapuna beach park... The first time I went I not only swam and played in the waves (yes, do keep an eye out for big ones for your little ones if the surf looks rough the day you are there), but also built sandcastles, and got a helping hand from some local kids. Just remember to lather the kids with sunscreen if you%26#39;ll be out for a couple hours or more. ;-)

Hapuna is gorgeous (even with the Prince but I am not still bitter am I) but be careful how far you let them out, there is an undercurrent just off shore. Still a wonderful beach though.
I looked up the location north of the Airport. Try Kukio Bay - Get off the Highway just nort of the Airport at Kukio Nui Drive. There is a gate. Tell the guard you want to go to the beach. They will give you a parking pass and tell you not to go on a tour of the houses. Drive to the parking lot and take a boardwalk to the beach. There is a small section completly protected from the surf by lava rock and a big bay to the north. Great for small kids.
