Best day for Tunnels and Kee?

I hear that they are crowded... are they less crowded on the weekdays?

Best day for Tunnels and Kee?

We went to Tunnels (last week-boohoo!)on a Wednesday and found it to not be crowded at all. We did have to go up and park in the parking lot and then walk back to Tunnels. What a beautiful place! Enjoy!

Best day for Tunnels and Kee?

We went yesterday and today and both days (not weekend days) the small parking areas that are right next to it, were packed full by 9:00am

But the parking at the beach down the road (right after you go thru the little ';stream'; in the road) was empty. Its then a walk down the beach but it%26#39;s a beautiful walk. Then you won%26#39;t have to worry about getting boxed in.

Will people really box you in so you can%26#39;t get out?

The area down the road past the little stream that crosses the road is Haena Beach Park. Usually some parking there, but it can be really crowded also, especially on the weekend.

Hopefully people wouldn%26#39;t block your car so you couldn%26#39;t get out, but you never know.....

I don%26#39;t think they do it on purpose. They just want to be there and they don%26#39;t know where else you can park. But, yes, people were boxed in. There%26#39;s only one side of the little road alley way you can park so it%26#39;s one behind the other and there were at least three cars that were NOT going anywhere unless they started pushing each other out of the say.

we drove down it and had to back out -- no room for turning around.

Kwills is right tho - the big beach parking lot will fill up to capacity. We got there at 9:00am and it was empty. We had our pick of where to park.

We left at around 2:00pm and when we got back to our car, it was completely full. Someone was very glad to get our parking space.

I would suggest getting there real early and just having breakfast on the beach. Don%26#39;t dilley around with breakfast at the condo or going out to eat that morning.

I am planning to get there pretty early if I can drag the family out of condo quick enough. Because of the time change, I tend to wake up at 5 or 6, and I figured just roll out of bed and pile into the car.

Where are you staying? What part of the island?

Now I have switched over to Hawaii time. I have to go back to work tomorrow and we are 4 hours later here. I think I%26#39;m going to be jet lagged tomorrow!

I still haven%26#39;t been to bed yet. UGH.

We are staying in Poipu...
