We are hoping the gas doesn%26#39;t detur us from renting.

I live in Honolulu where presently gas prices are tops in the country at $3/gal for the lowest grade. It is only going to get worse with prices going up another $0.13/gal according to the latest news. If you%26#39;re worried about gas prices I suggest renting a moped. If that%26#39;s not your thing you can plan on paying $50+ for a tank of gas. Getting gas from the rental company will cost you even more.

$144 weekly from Dollar for a full sized car (Dodge Magnum). Gas price from Aloha gas stations 2.88 - 2.92 /gallon and from Shell or Chevron 3.05. Price on return to Chicago was 2.90 at Amoco.

I had a $166 rate for a full sized car and a $98 weekly rate for a mid sized car from Dollar. When I checked 2 days before and modified the mid sized car to full sized the rate was $144 so I canceled my $166 and took the upgrade of the mid size and saved another $22. Crazy Rental companies.

Rates were higher on the other Islands. $3.05-3.10 on the big island.

just remembering your previous post re: pools and drinking 24-7..it%26#39;s illegal to drink and drive in Hawaii :))

Once again, you are implying things that just are not accurate. I only have one leg, it happens to be my left so unfortunately won%26#39;t be doing the actual driving. I will though, have a Mai Tai for you sweety.

We just returned from Ohau last week. We rented a compact car from Alamo. However, they gave us a Monte Carlo. We paid $161.00 for days days. We used a coupon that we got at Costco, which offered the best rates. I also found at least through Alamo, that the closer to my departure date, the rates for the rental car went down.
