Current Weather condititions

How%26#39;s the weather in Kauai now? We%26#39;re arriving tomorrow afternoon and just hope for the best. :)

Current Weather condititions

K,

We like to use www.weatherunderground.com

I just looked at it and you will probably encounter a bit of rain. Remember that if it%26#39;s raining in Lihue, it may NOT be raining in Poipu or Waimea. Here is a list of rainy day activities should you find yourself needing something to do. I hope others will add their%26#39;s as well:

1. Souvenir shopping at WalMart

2. Check out the Lyman Museum in Lihue. They have an orchid show/sale on Fridays

3. Movies at Coconut Market Place

4. Wyland gallery in Kapaa

5. Play a board game

6. Buy a travel journal and record your adventures so far

7. Kukui Grove Mall has a ';Made in Kauai'; store. Afterwards a hot, made to order malasada in front of the K-Mart there.

8. If it%26#39;s only a light rain, you can still go snorkeling w/out worrying about a parking space;) Or you could just frolic in it like when you were a kid. Heck, no one there knows you ;)

well, I%26#39;m sitting here right now on the lanai on the east shore. Weather is great. Sun and a few clouds. A few rain showers but I shouldn%26#39;t even say that because it will drizzle for about 2 minutes and then the sun is out again. It actually feels good if you%26#39;re out in the sun -- just enough to cool ya off.

The surf is quite high here on the East shore. Went to Poipu this morning and it was calm enough to snorkel but we just wanted to check it out first.

Hurry out!!

Hi, we just returned yesterday from 8 nights in the princeville area. The first few days were trying because I had planned the trip for months and had all these blue sky/turquoise water images in my head. Instead we had clouds, some sun, a quick shower, more clouds, high winds, more clouds, some sun, another shower, longer showers, ie. a mixed bag with no way to forecast the coming day (or even the next hour). We eventually figured out that the weather didn%26#39;t prevent us from doing something. Regardless of weather we went hiking, swimming, snorkeling and boogie boarding. Anini, for instance is pretty calm even in windy conditions. As we got more at ease with snorkeling through choppier water we just went to Kee or Tunnels. On the calm days (or least a calm morning or afternoon), the snorkeling was also good at Hideaways. For boogie boarding we found Hanalei Bay (it has like five different places to park) a good bet. There were signs saying dangerous currents but there were all these little kids surfing! My kids are 13 and 15 and they wanted to spend an hour or two there each day!

We definitely went to the North Shore for beaches and natural beauty and we found it. We did pack sweatshirts and rain jackets for all our outings.

Enjoy your Visit!
