Hi everyone,
We are ready for our next week vacation trip to the Big Island (April 23 to April 29). However, the weather is not a good news since it shows rain the whole week. Is it really bad if we won%26#39;t have any sunny day? Had you recently left Kona or Waikoloa? Can you give me some advise? Thanks for your sharing experience.
Heading to Waikoloa next Monday - Weather forecast shown...
Each and every island gets some rain almost every day.
Each and every island has what is known as a wet side and a dry side.
I don%26#39;t think Waikoloa gets much rain at any time of the year. Once you get there you will see for yourself, it looks like a moonscape for the 20 miles from the airport until you enter the resort.
The forecast you are looking at is probably generic, see if you can find one for Waikoloa specificly and I bet it says warm and sunny all week.

no rain
Go to Noaa zone forcast Kona radar to look at real time weather Go to south kona radar to see Hilo. neither radar will show the other side..
we have had 3 inches in 5 months....
Rain?! What%26#39;s that? :)
We just returned from the Hilton in Waikoloa. We had sun every day and some afternoons were overcast. The wind comes in and blows the clouds away. I did not see any rain at the Hilton. If you drive 20 minutes north up the mountains, it will rain on and off.
You will probably have very good weather. If you go to www.wunderground.com/US/HI/Waikoloa.html
It shows sun and clouds every day with a 20% chance of rain every day. It never rained on us and we had the same forecast.
Have a great time.
We just got home today. It rained during the night in Kona, Monday night. That was the 1st rain in Kona we%26#39;d seen. Had been there for 6 nights. And spent a total of 2 weeks around the island, with nominal rain, even in Hilo. Don%26#39;t worry so, it will be beautiful!!!
It was so hard to leave.
