Help! First time to Kauai

My family and I are traveling to Kauai this Christmas. Read so many reviews and seen so many websites, very confused. We like the beach and the ocean, also, something that would be low-key. Can someone advise me where to stay. I%26#39;ve been checking into Kiahuna Plantation, Poipu Shores and Kuhio shores. I%26#39;ve seen cottages that are also available. I would prefer a cottage over a house, and a house over a condo.

We stay every year at Poipu Shores and we LOVE it, primarily due to great ocean front location(buildings are only 20-30 yards from the seawall) and the pool is raised directly above the ocean. In fact, at high tide, there%26#39;s a little bit of mist that comes off the waves to the edge of the pool, which makes you feel like you are at the beach. In the cove right next to the pool are ALWAYS several turtles to watch. Great sunsets. ';A'; Building is best. Just remember that these are individually owned condos, so interiors will vary greatly, as with all condo conplexes. Poipu is a great location and south shore is the way to go. They don%26#39;t call it Sunny Poipu for nothing. Email me at cicixsmith@msn.com if you want more info or want to see some pics of Poipu Shores.

Kiahuna Plantation fronts a very nice beach. Most of the condos here don%26#39;t really sit close to the beach though. Only a few buildings are actually oceanfront. Several more are oceanview and the majority are garden view.

Still, this is a very reasonable choice in Kauai. The condos are not fancy, but they are very clean and get a fantastic breeze blowing through them. Very reasonable prices here (for Kauai).
