Anyone use Island Air to fly to Kauai from Maui??? Got a good price RT...
Hope its not a Prop......... LOL
Island Air??
Probably going to be a propjet, although I hear they%26#39;re buying or have bought bigger planes. Still propjets though, I think.
No worries; it isn%26#39;t Piper Cub-size and is just a safe as any other plane, only a little noisier.
Island Air??
they%26#39;re good ... yes, they fly turbo props but they are good sized planes. I%26#39;ve flown them several times. The luggage limit is less ... search this forum for other posts about it.
They use Dash-8 airplanes, turbo props.
We used Isalnd Air to fly to Maui from Oahu..they are props.. The flight to Maui was great and the convenience factor sold us..Kapalua vs Kahului. They fly lower, so the scenery was great! The flight back however, was another story. We flew directly into a terrible thunder storm. It was like being on a very looooooong roller coaster ride. Not fun.. This was back at the end of March when the islands were being pounded on by bad weather, so I%26#39;m thinking this was an exception. Even after the hairy flight back to Oahu, I would use them again. They are quite stringent re: the 50 lb per passenger rule.
Does that mean one piece of luggage per passenger?
We had 2 heavy checked bags(close to 50 lbs.) and two carry on. I was very glad that I resisted the urge to buy a box of pineapples in the airport because there would have been no place to go with them. Flight attendent told me if I couldn%26#39;t get my bag to squish under the seat it would have to stay off the plane.
Overhead bins are the tiniest I%26#39;ve ever seen.
But flight was good, scenery good, complimentary juice ... priceless. (just kidding)
