Kauai flood

Peace and healing to all of those touched by this tragedy. We are planning to arrive on the 18th. the condo that we are staying in is in princeville. Will we be able to get there? I can%26#39;t get a reading on the scope of the flood. Is this an inappropriate time to come? What can we expect to do/not do?

There%26#39;s really no way to know for sure if you%26#39;ll be able to get to your resort or not. The road may or may not be open by this weekend.

Water is currently passing UNDER the road, and the road will need major repairs. Don%26#39;t expect any quick fixes, bc this wasn%26#39;t just water washing over the top of the road. If you%26#39;ve seen video of the devastation you know what I%26#39;m talking about; the water cut a swath through the area and over/under the road.

They may have one lane open in a few days, but expected traffic to be slow and constricted at best.

We plan to arrive May 14, however would like to postpone if the road are in bad shape and we can not get around the island. Please advise, the hotel says it%26#39;s ok.

I believe the roads on Kauai heading up to Princeville are open at this time with the main bridge that was damaged being one lane. Here is the latest articles I could find after a quick search:

ALL lanes were open when we were on Kauai last week. No problems at all (other than the parking lot at the Kauai Marriott in Lihue). Okay, there was one parking lot near Poipu Beach that was flooded, too.

Absolutely go! I have a friend who is there right now and she%26#39;s having a lovely time! I went there only a week after the flooding and it was heaven! We were able to do everything that we wanted to do.
