maui bed and breakfast

We are planning our trip to Maui and would love to stay in a smaller hotel or b and b. The nicest b and b we%26#39;ve found is The Ho%26#39;oilo House, it looks almost perfect but no alcohol and no smoking is allowed. I love how its not in the heart of all the tourist attractions and it look really romantic and it is our honeymoon! But we want it to be perfect and afraid the no alcohol and smoking would put a damper on it. Can anyone offer some suggestions or know of another spot? Thanks!

Best B %26amp; B in Maui is supposed to be The Guest House in Lahaina. We are staying 2 night at the end of May. They do have a website but you will have to google them to get it.

We just booked the Ho%26#39;olio House for three nights of our honeymoon. I%26#39;m not sure what you mean by no alchohol but most B%26amp;B%26#39;s are going to be non-smoking.

Another small place we considered is the Aloha Pulani Boutique Hotel. We are also staying at the Cliff%26#39;s Edge but that is more secluded.

Good Luck!

Hi and how are things in Hudson Valley? Have you checked out the Garden Gate B+B? I%26#39;m collecting info myself for a November trip and this place looks most interesting.

Thanks all! I think we%26#39;ll just go with it and stay at the Ho%26#39;oilo House and then a resort! its pretty windy here in the Hudson Valley..I wish I was in Maui already!

We stayed 7 nights at the Ho%26#39;oilo House last month and it was pure heaven. As far as alcohol - no worries - it is definitely allowed. We brought our own and they even let us borrow wine glasses! The place is amazing and the hosts are as helpful and as gracious as they come. The website is fabulous - now just imagine it 10 times better than the pictures! Recently it rated one of the best laid back love nests on Maui in USA Today and got the highest grade from Fodor%26#39;s. I do my homework before I go anywhere - and this time it paid off big time for us.

...just to add - we did end up staying the last two nights of our trip at the Sheraton. That worked out well because even though I missed Ho%26#39;oilo House we had access at the Sheraton to one of the best beaches on Maui at Kaanapali Beach. Great snorkeling there and lots to do. There are a number of resorts on that beach and all of them look beautiful. We used the priceline website and got a great deal that way. We ended up paying less than half for our room than the going rate. The Sheraton even upgraded our room to an oceanview for free.

...and to add again (I just saw your other question about dinner on a related post) - Ho%26#39;oilo House does not provide dinner - but we did find an fabulous local takeout place close by that was absolutely delicious and cheap. It is the Honokowai Okazuya %26amp; Deli - they have large portions of fish, teriyaki steak, mahi mahi, pasta, burgers and more. They are about a 10 minute drive near the Kaanapali Shores resorts. We took our dinner back to Ho%26#39;oilo House one night and ate at the table in front (near the pool) under the stars with our bottle of wine. Very romantic. They are closed on Sundays. You will not be disappointed - the owner used to be the head chef at the famous Mama%26#39;s Fish House. Same kind of food - only $10 per dinner rather than the $40-50 you would pay at Mama%26#39;s.

bogardner- We are also staying at the Guest House in Lahaina at the end of May!! What are your dates? :)

Mauiwowie- I chose the Guest House because it was highly touted on this site and the amenities are endless!!! When is your trip? I am going to do a full trip report around the first week of May.

ps The Ho%26#39;oilo House does look amazing!!!

Herbalife Girl, staying 2 nights, May 30 and 31st, coming from Kauai where we are staying 7 nights.
