We are planning a family trip to Waikiki at the end of May. Have driven myself crazy shopping for a hotel. I%26#39;ve narrowed it down to Hilton Hawaiian, Outrigger Reef or Outrigger Waikiki. Have heard several pros and cons on each. HHV - expensive and hard to get connecting rooms (need 2 rooms) - but best beach, less crowded. Outrigger Reef - lots of construction noise, rocky beach but easy to get upgrades. Outrigger Waikiki - noisy. We want to stay somewhere where there is lots of fun and action for kids age 12 and 19. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. I%26#39;m going NUTS!
Which Hotel to Pick???
Any are good choices.
You already have the pros %26amp; cons of each.
So stay in the least expensive of the three.
Use the $$$ you save for entertainment.
Which Hotel to Pick???
My vote is for the Waikiki Outrigger! I have been there 4 times, going again in 24 days!!!!!
I don%26#39;t know why they get labeled as ';noisy';. It is a fabulous hotel. Their location is perfect. We have never had a noise problem at any time.
Your kids will love it here. The beach is great and the swimming is also.
All of the places you listed are popular...and if there is noise, it is because of their popularity. (We have never had a problem with noise coming from rooms next to us)
Best way to avoid the possibility of noise....stay 3 blocks off the beach...but then again, this wouldn%26#39;t be fun.
Go for the Waikiki Outrigger!
They are all good choices but I would go with the HHV!!! I%26#39;ve stayed there once and we will be staying there again in May. The HHV is a wonderful hotel!!!! Lots of shops, restaurants, and a great beach. It is a little walk to get into the main action on Waikiki though, but not bad at all. The pro%26#39;s of staying in one of the Outriggers is that they are right in the heart of all the action. You can%26#39;t go wrong with any of the hotels!! You%26#39;re going to be in Hawaii!!!! : )
But again... I%26#39;m a little partial to the HHV!!!!
Have you read the hotel reviews on tripadvisor for all of your choices? That would probably help! Good luck!
HHV, no doubt! You%26#39;ll love it!
hhv? whats that?
I agree, all are good choices. I only stay at Outrigger Waikiki on the beach because I love Dukes and the sand is a lot smoother down on this end of the beach. International Market Place is also across the street. My friends stayed at the Reef and really enjoyed it and the Hilton Hawaiian is more of a resort. If pools are your thing or the kids want a nice pool, stay at HHV. There%26#39;s also life guards down on this end of the beach. There aren%26#39;t lifeguards down by Outrigger Waikiki. Hilton Hawaiian has more room to roam on the grounds and there is also a park right there that has Volleyball nets. Either way, it%26#39;s all within walking distance and I didn%26#39;t find the Outrigger Waikiki to be noisy at all. In fact, we went for Memorial Weekend three years ago and it was pretty melow, since the graduation kids weren%26#39;t there yet.
If you don%26#39;t stay at HHV at least go for the fireworks if they still have them on Thurday nights.
HHV = Hilton Hawaiian Village :)
Hilton Hawaiian Village is the furthest from central Waikiki (is that%26#39;s a consideration for your family). I really like to walk around the main boulevard, so would pick one of the Outrigger properties because of convenient location.
We are treating ourselves to just 2 nights at the HHV, as part of our 2 week vacation. We fell in love with it when we saw it last time!
