traveling to maui in july, any suggestions for farmers...

We will be traveling to maui the first week of july and would like to know if there are any farmers markets or open air markets to buy fresh produce and flowers?Is the quality as just as good in the grocery stores? We will be staying in a condo with a kitchen and would like to have fruit and salad stuff available.

You can get produce at the Saturday Swap Meet in Kahului. I%26#39;m sure there are other farmers markets, but I don%26#39;t know anything about them. In any case, the local produce will be MUCH better and MUCH cheaper than in the supermarket.

You didn%26#39;t say what part of the island you were staying...but we stayed in Kaanapali in a condo and there was an amazing farmers market right down the street... It was right acaross the street from Honokawai beach park... Every M,W and F from 7-11am I believe... there are a lot of condos around that area. If this isn%26#39;t in your area, the best way probably would be to ask around once you get there!

There is alledgedly a maui markets web site but I have been unable to call it up. Keep getting a ';page not available'; notice.

The best Farmer%26#39;s Market will be the one at the college on Friday, starts at noon.

The one at Queen Ka`ahumanu Center has grown so much that they now have three days a week, Fri, Tue and Wed. 9-5 This would be my second choice.

Also, in Kihei at Suda%26#39;s store, M-W-F 1:30 - 5:30.

I used yo go into Wailuku Town for the market, but since they started the one at the college and expanded Queen Ka`ahumanu, no reason. I wish they would run one of those two on Sat. It gets hard finding reasons to go to town in the middle of the business day.

Is the college you are referring to Maui Community college? Could you give directions. We happened on the Wailuku market several times . Good stuff. Mahalo.
