Where is the best place to buy local produce? I want to support local growers, and am especially interested in fresh corn. I will be on island in july. Is this in season for corn?
Maui ProduceMaui Swap Meet in Kahului on Saturday mornings; Farmer%26#39;s Market at Old Suda%26#39;s Store on Kihei Rd. in Kihei. Fridays at Maui Community College outside Culinary School building. Farmer%26#39;s Market some days in Kahului (Maui Mall, I think?).
Best produce comes from upcountry, usually in Kula. Most of the above sources have Kula produce. Great award-winning goat cheese at Surfing Goat Dairy; nice people, a lot of varieties; they have tours, barbecues, etc. Also, check out the Lavender Farm in Kula; they have a gift shop.
Maui ProduceThe swap meet was selling corn last Saturday. I did not think the prices for fresh produce were too good considering they are not shipping it anywhere. The bananas are out of this world.
Another option is the Aloha Craft Fair and Farmers Market on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the Maui Mall in Kahului.

They have Ohana Farmers Market at the Queen Ka%26#39;ahumanu Center in Kahului on Fridays from 8:30am thru 2:30pm. Great selection of fresh produce %26amp; flowers.
The very nest place to find local produce is on Friday afternoon at the college.
The farmer%26#39;s market at the Queen Ka`ahumanu Center is on Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as Friday, from 8 to 4. Not bad, if you are plan on being there on Friday, head over to the college instead.
