Want to have dinner at Mama%26#39;s Fish House in August. Would like to arrive when it is still light but stay for dinner as it grows dark and the torches are lighted. What time should we make reservations for in August?

The sun will set between 6:30 and 7. (Earlier as the month goes on, just by a few min, of course.) Maybe 6:00 or 6:15 ... with cocktails, salads, dinner, dessert you will be there a couple of hours.

Deanna (or anyone else)- are there any places close to Mama%26#39;s where you can have a drink before dinner? Drinks are $14-$15 each, according to what other posters say.

herbalgirl, i thought you were already gone. i can%26#39;t think of any places around mama%26#39;s but there are places in paia. However, I would splurge and have the drinks at mama%26#39;s. It is a ripoff, to be sure, but you won%26#39;t find a nicer setting and their drinks are pretty good, too! Have a wonderful time!!1

Is a person able to go to Mamas for just drinks, or are you required to have a meal while there?

you can go to mama%26#39;s for drinks only...they have a bar area....

We booked our reservations off their website. I just e-mailed them the date and said we want to eat at sunset - they e-mailed me back the best time for our sunset reservation.

We leave next Wednesday and I agree - the wait is painful. Work is chore to go to every day!
