What is the best price anyone has gotten for December travel from the east coast via priceline? I will be travelling 12/16-21 from Birmingham, AL and was wondering what price range airfares were using priceline.
Airfare to Maui via priceline?
anybody?
Airfare to Maui via priceline?
You know, prices go up and down (mostly up due to fuel costs), specials are run all the time.
What you do is decide what you think is a fair price, say $600. Find the tickets, buy them then stop looking. Will there be lower prices? Maybe, is it worth your time to try to save a few dollars on a multi thousand dollar trip? Not to me it isn%26#39;t. I would rather spend the time planning the rest beyond getting there and back.
I have not looked on priceline, but I understand wanting to save money on the airfare. it is very expensive to fly from the East coast. I have a good while before I have to book, but I have been price shopping, and it is bad, so I hate to see what it will be like later. But I am going anyway, so I will just have to pay the piper!
If you book on price line, aren%26#39;t you totally locked in, and have no choice about your flight schedule? Thanks.
Check out all the various ';discount'; sites: hotwire, orbitz, yahoo travel (travelocity), expedia, etc. Heck, I created a spreadsheet!! Some are pretty similar in price...but with the fees and such, I found that on the very same flight there was a $10 to $40 difference. AND if you look at hotel and flight packages sometimes you can get a decent deal there too...and you%26#39;ll be surprised at how different some of the sites can be on the very same package!
I agree that hotel and flight packages are the cheapest way to go (but we wanted to stay at a special place for our Wedding/Honeymoon) I found Hotwire to be the best deal for flight tickets.
Hotel already paid for through timeshare exchange. So all I need is airfare. I have checked all of the discount sites and they all are around $800. I know that airlines have discount flights of around $600 right now but that is only good through June. $200 adds up quick when you are traveling with 10 people.
Flights from East of the Mississippi to Maui can cost you $800-$1000+. That is pretty standard. If you see any flights for less you should take them. Your dates are tricky, because the airlines do offer discounts for early Dec./ late Nov. flights, but I%26#39;m pretty sure they require traveling before Dec. 15 or 18 (meaning you have to be back home by then). This is because the Xmas season is huge for the airlines flying to Hawaii. If any discounts come up for your dates, you won%26#39;t see them until October at the soonest, which is a long time to wait for planning a Xmas trip, since Maui will be packed at that time. So, if you see flights for $800 you might want to just take them. The chance of you getting a cheaper flight is slim. And, yes, once you have bought your tickets, don%26#39;t look at prices again. Do really want to know if they%26#39;ve gone down after you bought them?
