What about airports near Kaanapali?

Anyone know which airport to get to Kaanapali? It has been reccomended as a great place to vist. It is for our honeymoon so want something a little special. Thanks

That%26#39;s Maui. Only one big airport on Maui - Kahalui. There is a small airport at Kapalua, only a few miles away but it is only serviced by Island Air - small airplanes.

The small airport is for local service, if you are coming from the mainland you can go to Honolulu then fly on a commuter flight to that airport. If you come to Maui from the mainland, OGG is you only choice. FYI this might be better served if posted in the Maui forum.

West Maui airport.. is seved by Island air and is a total joy... no rental cars thouugh... take a taxi to your hotel or condo and have the car rental follks pick you up west Maui saves about 2 hours of arrival and travel time each way. connect to it from HNL.. no direct flights

actually there is a shuttle service with a couple of rental companys at Kapalua. We used National. There are courtesy phones.They came and picked us up at the airport, drove us down the hill and along the freeway to their site; about 4 minutes. Then we picked up our car and drove back to Kahana..maybe 5 minutes tops...
