I am in Hawaii with my husband from 23-29 May. We have not booked anything yet as we are willing to travel around. We are flying into Honalulu from vegas and want to see the big Island and experience Maui.
1. is this too much to try and fit in 7 days?
2. What is unmissable for a fairly active couple who are also on their Honeymoon?
Any idea aprreciated. Thanks.
What is unmissable in Hawaii?Hi dizzybee
I think three Hawaiian islands in a week is too much... I%26#39;m all for seeing as much as you can whilst on holiday, but I think doing this will leave you absolutely exhausted and you%26#39;ll come back to the UK needing another holiday!
Last year, we did four of the islands in 15 days (including travelling to/from the UK). We got to see the main attractions and whilst I would have liked to have spent more time in some of the places (particularly Kauai), it didn%26#39;t feel rushed. However, as we were on a tour, everything was organised for us so all we had to do was turn up outside the hotel at a specific time and we didn%26#39;t have to worry about bad traffic / missing flights / luggage / car hire, etc.
I think you%26#39;d be better having a few days in Oahu and spending the rest of your time on one of the other islands.
In my opinion, the %26#39;unmissables%26#39; on each island are:
- Oahu: Waikiki Beach, Pearl Harbour, tour the island and watch the surfing on the north shore
- Big Island: Volcanoes National Park and doing a helicopter tour over the lava
- Maui: Haleakala National Park and the Road to Hana
- Kauai (my favourite island!): Helicopter tour of the island. The Na Pali Coast is BREATHTAKING. I%26#39;d also recommend viewing it from a boat...
Enjoy whatever you decide to do!
