I was wondering if you could give me some general plane info- when you book through Travelocity can you make your seat assignment then, or do you need to wait? I know that if you book direct with Hawaiian Airlines you can make a seat choice, but what about when you book direct with Aloha?
Any help is appreciated. We%26#39;ve never flown this far before and are trip planning!!
General plane info...
Last time I booked I was able to pick all my seats for major flights on major airlines.
I was not able to select seats for Aloha/Hawaiian. I can%26#39;t remember for sure, but I don%26#39;t even remember being assigned a seat on those inter-island flights until we actually flew.
General plane info...
I%26#39;ve used travelocity a million times and could always pick seats out as you are buying the tickets. Can%26#39;t help you with the Aloha Airlines...we%26#39;re using Hawaiian.
Hawaiian Air now have assigned seats. Not sure about Aloha.
Yung4fr, am I imagining things or did they at one time let you sit where you wanted? I know they don%26#39;t know, but I could swear they used to.
I remember doing an inter-island flight on Hawaiian back in 2000 for my honeymoon, there were no assigned seats - it was basically take what%26#39;s left. Not a fun situation. Now that I have children I won%26#39;t take a flight unless I can get pre-assigned seats.
Interisland, Hawaiian offers assigned seating; Aloha and Island Air do not (nor will Mesa%26#39;s go!).
Believe practically all airlines feature pre-boarding for families traveling with small children.
Suppose it%26#39;s because of the extra work involved in assigning seats, but Hawaiian charges $25 for a schedule change (interisland); Aloha%26#39;s fee is $10.
On mainland to Hawaii Flights, please be aware that Aloha utilizes narrow-body/single aisle/3x3 Boing 757 aircraft. Hawaiian%26#39;s 767 wide-body%26#39;s have two aisles and are configured 2x3x2.
Made a mistake booking Koa to Hnl at 6:30am instead of 6:30 pm with Aloha air the cost was not 10.00 but ,25.00 each.
We have flights scheduled on Island Air(no seat assignment), Aloha Air(no seat assignment) %26amp; Hawwaiin(seat assigned)
I appreciate everyone%26#39;s input.. I%26#39;m thinking of using Aloha%26#39;s direct flight from Maui to Oakland, instead Hawaiian%26#39;s Maui to Honolulu, then on to San Francisco. We have a flight out the next day from San Francisco to Detroit.
Hopefully, Aloha is a pleasant airline to fly with...?
Thanks
Hi Galle38,
Last year, when there was in interisland fare war, Aloha lowered it%26#39;s customary $25 change fee to $10 on the cheapest fares. In the latest round of cuts, prompted by the entry of go!, Aloha matched their new competitor at a flat $20. Seems like it wasn%26#39;t but a few years ago, when most passengers utilized coupons, that there was no charge...oh well.
Ohiotravelinggirl; Aloha has good service ratings, but if you%26#39;re flying coach, the 3x3 seating can be a pain OR a blessing.
If all seats are filled, couples traveling together will have someone next to them. However, if one of the three seats is empty, the extra room is nice.
One technique that has worked reasonably well for us is to reserve seats A %26amp; C, or D %26amp; F; much better odds of B or E being empty than if you leave a window or aisle available. If someone does end up assigned to either B or E, they%26#39;ll almost for sure be willing to trade for an asile or window seat so you%26#39;ll be next to each other.
Aloha uses 737%26#39;s to the mainland and Hawaiian uses 767%26#39;s. Go Hawaiian with the 767. You%26#39;ll thank me later.
