Where should you park when taking the ferry over to Lahaina? Is it a paid lot or free lot? We just reserved our jeep with Adventure and booked the ferry....looking forward to it!! I think we will reserve lunch with Pele also.... Thanks!!
lanai ferrythere is no ferry in Hawaii till 2007....... and it wint stop in Lahina
lanai ferryOops, I meant we%26#39;re taking the ferry to Lanai and not Lahaina.
What do you mean there is no ferry? I hope my typo is what caused that comment....as no one told me there is no ferry when I booked!
Yes, there are existing ferries between Lahaina and Lanai (and Molokai as well)....Dan is speaking to the ';Superferry'; scheduled to begin service between the major islands next year.
Ferry riders with cars must find their own parking, and there are numerous lots, mostly small, in central Lahaina. The Molokai Ferry, which berths nearby the Lanai Ferry, recommends drivers use a lot on Luakini Street, one block inland from Pioneer Inn/Front Street (fronting the pier) and 1.5 blocks to the north.
The lots have varying costs (up to about $10 per day), and some are free...the further inland you go, the more cheaper and free spots there are.
You probably already have the ferry website (hawaiiweb.com/maui/activities/expeditions.htm), so you might contact them and see what lots they recommend.
we took the ferry from Lahaina to Lanai for golf one day - parking can be hard to find in Lahaina. There is no set lot for people going on the ferry we ended up getting a $35 ticket because we were in a 3 hour spot and were away for more than 3 hours. Most of the lots in Lahaina are pay ones. There are a few that are free just for the first couple of hours...which we found out the hard way
