Hello,
We are so looking forward to our trip to Kona the week of April 22. As foodies, we always look for interesting new and delicious food. Merriman%26#39;s looks like a good place to eat - but we are curious about the farm tour - we see that they are doing it evey day now - which worries us that it may have become too touristy - and less interesting ie; special.
Can anyone provide feedback here?
Merrimans Farm Visit Worth it - or touristy?
If you are foodies I recommend doing it. Peter Merriman has been advocating the use of local products for 15 years, even before it became ';fashionable.'; Check out www.konaforum.com for restaurant reviews. You might want to sign up for the Greek dinner at ';Alice%26#39;s Not A Restaurant'; that will be held the week you will be here (a foodie club serving dinner once a month.)
Merrimans Farm Visit Worth it - or touristy?
Thanks for the advice- We booked and are anxiously waiting our visit. There has to be 6 folks registered, so I hope more book so we can do it.
Also ALice%26#39;s not a restaurant is very hospitable! Looks like a wonderful way to get to know the real BI. Alas, we will not be there for her next meal.
Thanks again.
Don%26#39;t worry, there will be more people signed up. It%26#39;s like that every month, people here are on ';Hawaiian Time.'; :) This will be the first dinner I will miss there in a long time but I can tell you it is a must for foodies. Both Shari and Alice are wonderful hosts and gourmet cooks. (Don%26#39;t forget to bring your own wine and say hello to the ladies for John!)
