We are two women coming to Kona in about 10 days. We intend to visit VNP one day. The rest of the time we will spend on the sunny Kona side. We are staying at the Sheraton and have a waterfront room so I know we%26#39;ll enjoy just looking at the water. We would also like to go snorkeling if the water isn%26#39;t too cold. We are novices and don%26#39;t want to go on a snorkeling tour, just find a nice quiet place to try it out ourselves. Any suggestions?
What are the best restaurants for lunch with a view?
What are the can't-miss-this things to do in Kona?
Go to Kahaluu Beach (next to the Outrigger) about two miles from the Sheraton, it%26#39;s the best snorkeling beach in Kona. (Go in the morning.) Check out konaforum.com for detailed restaurant reviews.

Kahaluu beach won%26#39;t be a quiet place by yourself but the water is warm, fish plentiful and there are turtles. Outside table at the Thai Rin restraunt has a view of the ocean.
Take an ocean /snorkel tour to Capt cook and Place of refuge; Visit place of refuge a 12th century jewell. The trips leave from Keauhouu bay 100 yards fron the Sheration
For a view... I hate to say it but Bubba Gumps , or Huggos on the rocks
When you eat gumps, eat a late lunch...reason during the lunch and dinner rush the oil in the fryers can cool a few degrees allowing the food to absorb some ot the oil. Go when the oil is hot and there are less customers to serve.......it can be a joy then..... it can be hell at dinner
At the Sheraton the bar, Blue Crystal iis one of the best view and feel here.. watch the manta rays with your martini
