zipline, does it really cost $40 just to watch?

I saw this somewhere. My husband is not interested but is going to come with me. You not serious, it doesn%26#39;t really cost just to watch someone! Also, I read talk about going for the sunset after the zip, have any of you done that?

Hate to tell you this, but he%26#39;s going to have to participate - you gotta zip to get to the other side. Trust me, I%26#39;m terrified of heights, but after 1 1/2 xanax, I relaxed enough to try it, and after the 1st zip (which is a little one), I was hooked. It%26#39;s a BLAST!!!!

My family would love to do this but I am also scared to death of heights. I%26#39;m trying to get a mental picture-Are you zipping from elevated platforms or from hilltop to hilltop? I may just have to stay on the beach that day by myself.

I think it more from tree top platform to tree top platform. I%26#39;ve not done zipping in Maui, but I have done them before and it is so much fun. You are completely strapped in and you don%26#39;t even have to hold on. Probably no better, fun way to face some fears.

i haven%26#39;t done it in maui either, just costa rica %26amp; puerto vallarta...but i can%26#39;t visualize a zipline where it%26#39;s even POSSIBLE to watch someone.

try to talk him into it, it is SO MUCH FUN!

mauikitty, the first time we did one, on the drive there i was wishing i%26#39;d popped a xanax, but once we arrived, i didn%26#39;t even need it!

Is there anything OTC that is comparable to Xanax?lol

we%26#39;ve done the zipline on the slopes of Haleakala (after watching the sunrise and hiking at the summit). I believe one may go along and just hike with the group, without having to zip. There are ways of getting from one zipline to another without actually zipping. There are 4 or 5 lines and a suspension bridge. We went with about 10 other people, and everyone had a blast. You get excellent gear, and everything is safe. I would do it again in a minute!

I took my kids to do the zipline this month in Maui. I posted about it along with my review of the Warren and Annabelle Family Show. YES, you can go and just watch. And yes, the did charge me $40.00 plus tax. I would have liked to zip too, but the have a limit of 12 per session. It does take time to get each person across. Their is very little hiking involved. Less than a mile and the zippers go back and forth across so you watch them go and the come back they do this three times and the last time you have to take a very short drive with one of the guides to their final zipping spot. I think the $40.00 was too much for what I got from the zip company, but the memories of watching my kids are worth more than money.
